For Part II of Paris Fashion Week there are designs from Balenciaga, Christian Dior, Alexander McQueen, Nina Ricci, Stella McCartney, and Valentino. For the rest check out Part I.
Balenciaga
The colors, the patterns, the shoulder pads, all seemed to be inspired directly from the eighty's. I liked the idea of the silky skirts like the one below but they made the super skinny models seem like they have wide hips, a feature I prefer not to emphasize.
Christian Dior
It was a very lady-like,delicate collection. The color palate was very bright for fall with pinks, reds, purples and yellows. It was a solid collection but nothing that took your breath away.
Stella McCartney
Stella McCartney's collection was youthful, very wearable, with lots of leather tights that we've seen on too many runways to count.
Alexander McQueen
Alexander McQueen's collection was theatrical and at times borderline scary. The hounds tooth coat was fit for Cruella De Vil and the black feather gown that closed the show looked like an angel from hell descended on earth. It will be interesting how the Japan influenced designs will appear in stores.
Nina Ricci
It is no wonder Reese Witherspoon has turned to designs by Nina Ricci time and time again. The beautifully sculpted designs are one of a kind.
Valentino
Valentino may have retired but the elegance and grace of his clothes has been carried through in the designs for the fall collection. It's not a youthful collection, but I could easily see Michelle Obama wearing something from this line.
