As soon as I got to Soho I realized that strolling was simply not an option. The streets were beyond congested. Here's where I actually made it to:
Phillip Lim - very crowded, this was one of the only parties with hard liquor...the clothes were wisely cleared away because where there is free liquor accidents are bound to happen :)
Marni - I came up to Marni because everyone was walking around with balloons from the store and I desperately wanted one. Once I got the balloon I headed inside, eyed some very nice boots, and mixed the gin I had earlier with some nice wine and very tasty dessert.
Ralph Lauren - became window watching central when Jessica Alba came by. After 15 min of standing on my tippy toes trying to see Jessica along with a few hundred other onlookers, I couldn't take it any more and left. That smudge in the picture is Jessica. The quarter of her face that I did get to see looked very pretty ;)
Eileen Fisher - my favorite by far. After sipping some champagne the salespeople let us know we could sign up for DJ lessons. It was so much fun pretending I'm Sam Ronson. I even got a compliment from the "teacher", though I suspect everyone got one :)
I do have one bone I have to pick with this year's Fashion's Night Out. This year more stores opted to have guestlists which in my mind defeats the purpose of this great night. Intermix had a list even though there wasn't anything special happening inside once I "sneaked" in. So I beg if anyone's listening, next year please don't exclude. This is the one night where it doesn't matter who you are, you still have a chance to experience your favorites brands & designers...and if you're really lucky, rub shoulders with D-list celebs ;)
